GROM GIRLS?
Usually when someone says “grom”, I always think boy. So what do you call the girls? I don’t know. Grom girls? Is there a special term to use?
グロムという言葉を聞くと
いつも自分は小・中学生くらいの男の子を連想してしまう。
では、小・中学生くらいの女の子はグロムでなければなんと呼ぶ？
グロム・ガール？
それはわからないが、そんな言葉がぴったりな気がする。

Whatever you call them, they’re getting to be better surfers at younger ages. They’re focussing on contests and travelling, and gaining important experience from the older girls, like Natsuki Suda and Ren Hashimoto.
いずれにしても、いまの小・中学生の
彼女たちのサーフィンのレベルは非常に高い。
コンテストや旅を通して須田なつき、橋本恋といった先輩たちから
多くのことを吸収している。

At only 14 years of age, Minori Kawai is leading the way and giving hope to the younger girls who share the same dreams. Becoming a professional Japanese athlete earlier this year and finishing the 2015 season with two victories, rookie of the year award, and giving her a solid ranking at 2nd in the JPSA, Minori is the beginning of the Grom Girls storm.
川合美乃里は、グロムガールズとでもいうべき
小・中学生ガールズサーファーのシーンをリードするホープのひとり。
若干14歳にしてすでに日本のトッププロとして活躍している。
今シーズンからプロ転向したにも関わらず、
2015シーズンはすでに2勝を挙げて
JPSAランキング2位でフィニッシュしたうえ、
ルーキー・オブ・ザ・イヤーにも輝いた。
現代の世界のサーフシーンにおける”ブラジリアン・ストーム”ならぬ、
日本のサーフシーンにおける
”グロムガールズ・ストーム”の火付け役であり立役者。

Coming onto the contest scene quick with excellent results in majors Japan comps, Shino Matsuda is showing she has what it takes to represent Japan on the big stage in the very near future.
先日のVOLCOM主催のTCT日本代表選手に選ばれるなど、
今シーズンは多くの結果を残し、
電光石火のごとくシーンのトップに登ってきた松田誌野。
近い将来、日本の代表するトップサーファーとして
大きなステージに立つであろう素質と可能性を感じずにはいられない。
